Because of the seasonal glitch, the last meeting of the year was at Manze's in Chapel Market on 19th December. Due to festive excesses and a late emergency, it was a ménage á deux. I wish I could have been there to make trois. Bearing a remarkable likeness to dastardly screen villain Alan Rickman was Richard Lucas, going head-to-head with gung-ho, sweat-soaked, Graham ('I'll be home for Christmas') Darlow in a veritable Pie Hard With a Vengeance. Despite some considerable 'backdraft', Manze's impressive glass shopfront remained intact. We return to Clark's on Friday 16th January 2004.
